What we collect

Feedback (only if you send it): the type, your message, your email if you give one, the page address, the lesson or ticket you were on, your browser and the app version. We use it only to fix problems and improve the course, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
Sales enquiries (name, work email, organization, seats, message) to reply to you. Reviews you choose to submit (rating, words, display name, consent time). Referral data (your code, masked friend emails, rewards) and certificate records (name printed, track, date, ID; the verify page shows only the name, track and date).
Account: email address and a salted password hash (we never store your password itself).
Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive the purchase status, never your card number.
AI tutor: your questions are sent to an AI provider to generate answers and are subject to that provider’s data terms. Hourly usage counts are kept for rate limiting.
Progress: lesson progress is saved in your own browser (local storage). Harbor Engine work (channels, practice messages, code tables and ticket progress) is saved in your browser and also copied to your account, so your other devices open the same version.

How we use it

To provide the course, answer your requests and prevent abuse. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Where it is stored

With our hosting provider (Netlify), our payment processor (Stripe) and our AI provider. Each acts on our behalf.

Voice mode

If you turn on voice input, your browser’s own speech service turns your speech into text. Some browsers, such as Chrome, process this on the browser maker’s servers.

[LLC legal name] (doing business as AckHarbor™ / AckHarbor™ Academy) is the controller of the personal data described here. We use it on these legal bases: to provide the course you bought (contract); to keep the service secure, prevent fraud and improve the course (legitimate interests); to send reminders about your access (legitimate interests, and you can opt out); and to publish a review or use voice mode only when you agree (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).

You have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to some uses, and to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO). To use these rights, contact us with the email on your account. We answer within one month.

Our hosting (Netlify) and payment provider (Stripe) may process data in the United States. Where data leaves the EU, EEA or UK, those providers rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK addendum or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We keep account and purchase records while your account is open and as long as tax law requires; feedback, sales enquiries and reviews are deleted when no longer needed or when you ask.

Cookies and browser storage

We use one strictly necessary cookie to keep you logged in, and your browser's local storage to save your course progress and Harbor Engine work on your device. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, so we do not show a cookie banner. If we ever add optional cookies, we will ask for your consent first.

Your choices

To see or delete your data, email support@ackharbor.com. Do not enter real patient information anywhere on this site.
